If you are looking for a small to mid-size vehicle from these companies, these are going to be your option.  Both vehicles are top sellers for their companies, usually flip flopping back and forth with the Accord and Camry. The Civics was introduced to the US market in 1973 while the Corolla came along in 1968. These are two longest continuously produced nameplates Japanese manufactures.

 

Hybrid Option

The Honda Civic has come in a hybrid option since 2003. it is currently in its second generation and shares the exact same body style as the gas powered Civic. The Corolla is not and never has been offered as a hybrid.
