The 2000 Insight was a small 3 cylinder engine combined with there IMA(Integrated Motor Assist) and got close to 70 mpg. As far as sales of hybrids go, nobody can touch the Toyota Prius right now. It has been the best selling hybrid since it hit the market in 2000 with its Hybrid Synergy Drive technology.
