The Honda Accord Crosstour and the Toyota Venza are similar, yet different. They are considered to be in the same class, yet the look an feel are a little different. The Crosstour, which debuted in late 2009 as a 2010 model is a mid sized hatchback. The Venza, which made its debut in 2008, takes on more of a wagon shape. Both serve the same purpose of being a little larger and roomier than a full size sedan, yet not quite as big as an SUV.

 

Hybrid Option

As of right now, neither the Crosstour or the Venza are available as a hybrid.

 

Sales

The 2009 sales are as follows:

Honda Accord Crosstour: Just over 2500 units (Was released in late November '09...15,000 units through June '10)

Toyota Rav4: Just over 55,000 units

 

4WD Option

The Crosstour has a 2Wd and 4WD option. The Venza comes in AWD or 4WD.

 

Engine Options and Fuel Efficiency

Crosstour:

V-6 Cylinder 3.5L producing 271hp , 17/25 city/highway (4WD) 22/28 (2WD)

 

Venza:

4 Cylinder 2.7L producing 182hp, 21/29 city/highway(4WD) 20/28 (AWD)

V-6  3.5L producing 268hp, 19/26 city/highway (4WD) 18/25 (AWD)

Transmission Options

For those that like to drive a car manually, you are out of luck when it comes to these two vehicles. They do not offer the option.

HC:

5 Speed Auto

TV:

6 Speed Auto

 

Body Styles:

Both are 4 door vehicles. HC has a hatchback, giving it a huge cargo space. The Venza has a rear door that opens like a traditional wagon.

 

Safety Rating:

Both vehicles have a 5 Star rating across the board except for a 4 star rollover rating

Both vehicles have front and rear anti-lock disc brakes.
